Kathy Wisehart, LPC (MO), has worked in the social service field for over 20 years, having worked as a Licensed Professional Counselor within private practice since 2012. Kathy graduated from Missouri Baptist University with a Masters of Arts in Counseling. Kathy has experience working with many areas of mental health such as anxiety, depression, substance use, grief, behavioral issues, and life changes. Group therapy is an area of interest that Kathy has worked extensively within her experience. Kathy has started seeing patients at Truman State’s University Counseling Center operated through a partnership with Complete Family Medicine in 2021.
Kathy’s treatment modality is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused, and she believes as a professional, her role is to guide you as you take steps towards positive life changes, healing, and a healthy mind. Kathy considers all of her clients to be more than just another name or an appointment, treating each individual with deep compassion and no judgement. Not only providing support and encouragement, but to offer practical resources that can be put into practice immediately. Everyone can achieve more personal growth and strength, and it's an honor to work on that together.
Kathy is from rural Lewis County, where she currently resided with her husband and two sons. While going to the beach is Kathy’s favorite pastime, she enjoys attending her children’s activities, working with her farm animals, the family dogs, camping, boating, traveling and spending time with her family.
Kathy started at UCS in the Fall of 2021.
